Terms of Use

Effective: September 2026. Tom Breaks Terrible News is an independent entertainment project.

1. No guaranteed service

Submitting a request does not guarantee that Tom will make a call, contact anyone, record anything, publish anything, or respond. Submissions may be declined for any reason.

2. Truthfulness and authority

You agree that information you submit is truthful to the best of your knowledge and that you are not using the service to deceive, defraud, threaten, harass, stalk, intimidate, or unlawfully target another person.

3. Prohibited submissions

4. Calls, recording, and publication

Any call, recording, or publication will be handled only where lawful and appropriate. Submission alone does not constitute consent by the recipient to be recorded or published. Actual call audio will only be published when the project determines that the required consent and release have been obtained. When actual audio cannot appropriately be published, a mission may instead be summarized, anonymized, or recreated using an actor or artificial voice that is not intended to imitate the recipient.

5. Optional support and priority

There is no charge to submit a mission, and an accepted mission does not require payment. After a mission is accepted, the project may provide an optional support link. Support of $25 or more may receive priority placement among accepted missions. Payment does not override safety review and does not guarantee timing, recording, publication, or any particular outcome. Duplicate or mistaken payments may be refunded where appropriate, and refunds will be provided where required by law.

6. User-submitted content

You retain ownership of material you submit. You grant permission to review and use the submitted information solely to evaluate and potentially carry out the requested communication, and to create lawful summaries or anonymized adaptations of the mission, subject to applicable law and any additional consent needed for recording or publication.

7. No professional advice

This project does not provide legal, medical, mental-health, financial, law-enforcement, military, or other professional services.

8. Independent project

Tom Breaks Terrible News is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jon Breaks Bad News, any branch of the U.S. military, the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or any government agency.

9. Changes

These terms may be updated as the project evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
